New MD at LHL Group

SURVEYORS and architects, the LHL Group, has appointed a new managing director.
John Denton has been named managing director of the business, which has offices in Doncaster York, Hull and Harrogate and employs 40 people.
Mr Denton, a building surveyor, has taken over from Ken Hawley who has been managing director of the group since it was formed with the merger between Hawley & Partners, of Doncaster, and York-based Lightly & Lightly in 2005.
Mr Hawley will stay with the business until his retirement next year.
Mr Denton, 50, joined Lightly & Lightly 1987 specialising in pre-acquisition surveys, private client and estate work, and education and became a partner in 1988.
He helped Lightly & Lightly’s expansion into Harrogate and Hull and the merger with Hawley & Partners.
He said: “We have a broad base of experience within LHL which has allowed us to make progress during the financial difficulties.
“We detect some small but significant signs of improvement and I’m looking forward to my new role in our team-based approach as the economy slowly improves.”
The LHL Group, which has 40 staff, incorporates LHL Healthcare which oversees the development of primary care centres.
The business works regionally and nationally offering a range of services including building surveying, architecture, quantity surveying, property inspections, project and construction management and health and safety work.
