Corporate high fliers offered half price MBA programmes

A PREVIEW of how businesses could benefit from half-price executive MBA programmes is being held at Bradford University School of Management next month.
The school is using part of a £700,000 grant to offer a 50% discount on its executive part-time MBA programme to Yorkshire companies. The course has consistently maintained its ranking as the number one programme in the north by the Financial Times 2009.
The scholarships, funded through the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) and Yorkshire Forward, aim to help businesses maintain management development throughout the recession.
MBAs are considered to have major benefits for companies which report that the qualification has an immediate impact on the way managers contribute to their organisations.
Julian Rawel, director of executive education at Bradford University School of Management, said: “We hope regional businesses will take up the opportunity to attend the preview evening to see how the MBA will help them.
“Recent difficult times have had an impact on investment in such areas as management training and whilst interest in our MBA and executive programmes remains relatively strong, we have had to push harder in some areas. Providing scholarship for the executive part-time MBA programme enables firms that are looking for savings to maintain their commitment to management training.”
A limited number of scholarships are available for the course starting in January, which offers a saving of £7,750 on the usual fees. The MBA preview will be held on December 9 at Heaton Mount, Heaton, from 6pm until 8.30pm.
