Companies join forces for housing development

TWO Yorkshire businesses have come together to drive growth in the design and build market during the economic downturn.

Huddersfield-based architectural consultancy Fibre Architects and building contractor Envicon have completed the initial design proposal for a new residential development in Brotherton, East Leeds.

The £750,000 project will see the land that housed an old school house converted into a new housing development.

The derelict school has just been demolished and the contract is about to enter the planning application stage.

Martin Booker, director of Fibre Architects, said: “This project really shows that land has all sorts of hidden potential. Turning previously developed land into something more viable and maximising the return through well thought out and precise design is what we pride ourselves on.

“We’re thrilled that Envicon recognised the quality of our initial concept and look forward to seeing the project through to its completion next year. Working with other local companies is crucial in the more challenging market and, through our work with Envicon, we hope to drive growth for both businesses.”
