Job cuts as mobility group enters administration

A Yorkshire mobility group has gone into administration, forcing 17 employees into redundancy.

Hull-based Hartmond Limited, trading as Yorkshire Mobility, The Mobility Partnership, Trade Mobility and Value Mobility, called in administrators from RSM Restructuring Advisory on 24 March.

The company had seven sites, with 17 employees and three directors, supplying mobility products to both local and national customers, via its stores and website.

Administrators Keith Marshall and Gareth Harris said that the company had suffered “challenging” trading conditions in recent years.

Directors said they did not believe they could continue to trade without having a detrimental effect on the creditors’ position. The administrators are currently reviewing options with regards to maximising asset realisations, they said.

Keith Marshall, RSM Restructuring Advisory partner and Joint Administrator, said: “Whilst the Company had many loyal customers and a strong local presence, competitive and difficult trading conditions have unfortunately determined that the Company can no longer continue to trade.

“At this early stage we have had to suspend activity at all sites, and make staff redundant due to the high level of costs, but we would encourage any interested parties to contact us as soon as possible.”
