Microtech acquires £2m Leeds network division

IT company Microtech Group has acquired a division of Leeds’ Egton Medical Information Systems, better known as EMIS.
The £2m-turnover Egton Network Services division will join Microtech, adding four members of staff to the 75-strong team.
Microtech said that the purchase complements their existing IT sales and support business, Microtech Support.
ENS provide flexible network solutions, infrastructure design and implementation, combined with hardware provision.
Paul Mathewson, technical director of the Microtech Group said: “ENS brings with it additional skills and expertise in the datacentre environment which will assist with the continued growth of our cloud strategy, and allow us to expand the range of ‘cloud managed’ services in our technology portfolio.”
Chris McMail, managing director of the Microtech Group said, ‘ENS have strong ties in the retail and hospitality industry and will continue to serve single sites as well as multi nationals, whether that’s for a one-off contract or fully managed service. The network solutions business perfectly complements our existing IT sales and support, and will further strengthen our service offering to new and existing clients.
Egton managing director Stephen Wilcock said: “I have worked with Chris and the team at Microtech for several years, I am confident they will provide a good service to our Egton Network Services customers transferring as part of this transaction and wish them well for the future.”
