150 year-old textiles company sees profit hike

150 year-old Wakefield textiles manufacturer WE Rawson has seen a hike in profits and revenues.
The family-run company, which is registered as Braveshire, saw revenues increase 11.4% for the year to June 2016 to £64.1m. The company said this was down to the higher revenues made at group company Applied Felts.
Pre-tax profits increased from £4.5m in 2015 to £7.6m.
The company manufactures industrial fillings, carpeting and felt tubing and employs 363 staff.
A dividend of £2m was paid out during the year, double that of 2015’s dividend.
