Oil flows for Imperial

ENERGY company Imperial Energy said today that oil from its Snezhnoye field in Western Siberia was now flowing directly into the Transneft national oil transportation system.
The tie-in with Russian state run Transneft has seen 35,000 barrels worth of oil enter the system through Leeds-based Imperial's transfer station at Zavyalovo.
Imperial said the connection unlocked the potential of Imperial's oil reserves Blocks 74 and 77, north west of the Ob River, and meant the company's 49km North Western pipeline was now fully operational, saving road transportation costs.
The company's 152km Maiskoye-Luginetskoye pipeline is also fully operational.
Imperial also said today that construction permissions have been granted for its 152km third pipeline, which is being built linking its Block 80 oil reserve to the Zavyalovo transfer station.
The first oil through that pipeline is expected to flow by this autumn.
FTSE 250 company Imperial, which has its registered office in Leeds but its main area of operations in Western Siberia, aims to produce 25,000 barrels per day by the end of 2008 and 35,000 barrels per day by the end of 2009.
