Corporate financier takes on AIM-listed role

Corporate finance veteran Stephen Hammell has been given a spot on the board of an AIM-listed Yorkshire business.

Cyber security group ECSC has hired Hammell as chief financial officer, with effect from tomorrow.

Hammell was most recently group finance director at IT consultancy eBECS, which he guided through a divestment from Computer Sciences Corporation.

Prior to this he was a corporate finance director a Grant Thornton, and held corporate finance roles at PwC and Yorkshire Bank.

A University of Leeds graduate, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen and is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.

ECSC debuted on the AIM division of the London Stock Exchange in December 2016 and has opened further offices in Leeds from its Bradford base since then. The group, headed by founder Ian Mann, is also planning on opening a base in Australia.

For the 15 months to December 2016 it returned revenues of £4.51m, compared to £2.65m in a 12-month period in 2015.
