5 things to do in Yorkshire this weekend

Tommy
The Who’s Tommy, a multi-award winning rock musical written by Pete Townshend, is bringing a cast of 22 performers and musicians to the stage this weekend. Taking place at the West Yorkshire Playhouse, the story follows a pinball-playing boy. Based on the iconic 1969 album, Tommy is a one of a kind show which has been reborn for a new generation. British Wildlife Photography Awards Exhibition
Head along to Nunnington Hall this weekend to admire the incredible talent of both amateur and professional photographers at the British Wildlife Photography Awards Exhibition. The exhibition, which is aiming to highlight the diversity of Britain’s wildlife, covers 15 categories, including urban wildlife, animal portraits and marine life. Leeds Indie Food Festival
Returning for its third year, the Leeds Indie Food Festival, which is taking place at venues across the city, is set to be a huge success. The festival is playing host to over 100 events all with the aim of introducing locals to the very best independent restaurants, bars and venues. Musical Tales from Russia
Polly Ives and the musicians from Ensemble 360 will take to the stage in Sheffield this weekend to whisk you away to a world of Russian fairy tales. With music from Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, Stravinsky’s Soldier’s Tale and Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, the event is set to entertain the whole family.
