Major contract wins for rebranded engineering group

Swedish-owned engineering company Sweco, has won some major contracts just a year after rebranding from Grontmij.
It has secured major contracts including improved facilities across british Antarctic Survey research stations and the development of Galway Wind Farm, the largest of its kind in Ireland with the capacity to generate electricity for 84,000 homes.
Sweco was also appointed by Irish Water in December to deliver a modernisation project.
Sweco, which employs 800 in the UK from its Leeds base, specialises in the energy, transportation and environmental sectors.Its Swedish parent company turns over £1.4bn and has 14,500 employees as well as being listed on the Nasdaq Stockholm.
For the year to December 2015, the company returned turnover of £55.2m and pre-tax profits of £3.5m.
