Village wins “hot tub capital of Yorkshire” title

Hot tub company Outdoor Living has given the prestigious accolade of “hot tub capital of Yorkshire” to a West Yorkshire village.

Garforth, 9 miles from the centre of Leeds, has won the entertaining accolade by Outdoor Living, the Leeds-based hot tub business.

The company based its findings on sales data for the region over the last 12 years – and the LS25 postcode for Garforth came out on top with a whopping 12.7% of all purchased of hot tubs from Outdoor Living made from the West Yorkshire town.

Home owners in Garforth, Sherburn in Elmet, South Milford and other LS25 postcodes reportedly buy the most hot tubs.

In second place was Moortown, Harewood and Moor Allerton, and the rest of the LS17 postcode, whilst Collingham, Linton and Wetherby made it into third place, with 7.8%.

Darren Jowett, showroom manager at Outdoor Living in Leeds, admitted he was slightly surprised by the results, but not by the increasing number of sales they are experiencing.
Mr Jowett told the Mail: “We knew we sold a lot of hot tubs to the east of Leeds, but we honestly did not believe it would be the winner.”

“We always seem to do quite well with our sales in the villages, possibly because there are some bigger houses there with more room for a hot tub, but we thought villages such as Linton in West Yorkshire would be above Garforth and the surrounding area.”
