People: Host of hires at architectural practice; President role for accountant; and more

New recruits at Brewster Bye Architects Liam Crowther, Adam Hall, Aimee Greenwood and Nadia Rehamn.

An architecture practice in Leeds has welcomed four recruits.

Brewster Bye Architects has appointed architect Adam Hall, architectural technologist Liam Crowther, architectural assistant Aimee Greenwood and interior design assistant Nadia Rehamn.

Brewster Bye’s managing director Chris Austin says: “These four appointments strengthen our team and will support our ongoing growth as we continue to work on an ever-growing range of projects for our longstanding clients, as well as winning projects with new clients across the country in recent months.

“We work in the residential, commercial, industrial, education, health, community enterprise and arts, sports and leisure sectors, so it’s essential we attract talented young people with a wide range of experience and design skills suited to all of those market places. With numerous schemes at the development and planning stages, and plenty more in the pipeline Adam, Liam, Aimee and Nadia will all be very busy working on some really exciting projects.”

President Mark Fielding of Simpson Wood and Carolyn Atkinson

Carolyn Atkinson, director of Sheards Accountancy, has been elected President of the Huddersfield & District Society of Chartered Accountants.

Her appointment was confirmed by outgoing president Mark Fielding at the groups’ annual meeting earlier this month.

Atkinson said: “I’m deeply honoured to have been chosen as the president of the Huddersfield & District Society of Chartered Accountants 2017/18. And as the second lady president to be appointed since the society began.

“I intend to build on Mark’s good work by reaching out to the other professionals and business community in Huddersfield, and also to involve the students and younger members of the professions in our events.

“We are all very loyal to our town, and I want to continue to build on those relationships which currently exist, but also to strengthen them and help our future business leaders along the way.”
