The sports law team at Walker Morris has claimed a second victory in three days after advised on the takeover of former European Cup winners Nottingham Forest.

Olympiacos FC owner Evangelos Marinakis, and Sokratis Kominakis, bought the club from Fawaz Al Hasawi through their vehicle NF Football Investments.

It came in the same week as the Walker Morris Sports Group advised on the acquisition of Reading, and followed on from deals involving Bolton Wanderers, Leeds United, Crystal Palace and Bradford.

David Hinchliffe led the Walker Morris team of Liz Coley, Geoff Cunningham, Owen Ormond and Christian Slinger.

Hinchliffe said the team’s work “is further demonstration of the national reputation we have established in football club acquisitions”.
