Chef teams up to create Whitehall Road restaurant

A chef has teamed up with two business owners to launch Leeds’ newest addition, Hive on Whitehall Road.
The Whitehall Riverside cafe will serve breakfast and lunch for city centre workers, with an outside terrace overlooking the River Aire.
Business owners Andrea Bethell, a director at Think Property Developments and Roddy Dilasser, a director of Park Avenue Property Management and Dilasser Private Client, joined forces with chef and high street food retailer Ian Kendrew to launch the venture.
It has a menu developed by the owners and in conjunction with Roz Witney, a food industry nutritionist who has worked with organisations including North County Council, PepsiCo and Compass Group.
Andrea and Roddy commented: “As working mums, we truly understand the juggling act that everyone faces on a daily basis to meet deadlines while caring for families and indeed themselves; all whilst striving to maintain a nutritionally balanced diet. HIVE channels our shared passion for food that’s good for you but also tastes great, and is convenient for when you’re on the go.
“Leeds has a thriving independent food scene that we’re really excited to be a part of as a brand new business, and we’re looking forward to welcoming all of our guests in for food, drink and a chat!”
