TheBusinessDesk.com Yorkshire has appointed a new editor to lead its presence in the region.

Kayley Worsley will join the team at the end of August and will be based in its Leeds office.

TheBusinessDesk.com, which was founded by David Parkin in Yorkshire, is marking its 10th anniversary this year. It now operates in four regions, with teams on the ground in the North West, West Midlands and East Midlands.

Worsley is a familiar face in Leeds City Region through her current role as PR and public affairs manager at Leeds Bradford Airport.

A journalism graduate of the University of Sheffield, she worked for newspapers in the East Midlands and South Yorkshire before moving into public relations.

TheBusinessDesk.com’s Alex Turner said: “Kayley will be a real asset to the team and we are very much looking forward to her joining.

“Her experience will be invaluable as she takes over responsibility of shaping the news agenda and deepening TheBusinessDesk.com’s relationships across the business community.”

Kayley Worsley added: “I am really pleased to be joining TheBusinessDesk.com, where my focus will be on sourcing engaging and informative business news for and about the whole of the Yorkshire region.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at LBA, which has given me the opportunity to work closely with a range of businesses and stakeholders focused on heightening the profile of the region. This is something I am very passionate about and I look forward to continuing in my new role.”

Her arrival is the result of the departure of deputy editor Clare Burnett, who leaves after two-and-a-half years at TheBusinessDesk.com to join a digital marketing agency.

Turner said: “Clare has been fantastic and we are sorry to see her go. Her energy and commitment have been central to the growth of the business and we wish her well in her new career.”
