High street retail client signs up with Clipper

Clipper Logistics has signed on The Edinburgh Woollen Mill group as a customer.

The five-year contract with EWM will see Clipper provide logistics support throughout Great Britain.

Last month the business announced double digit growth, with revenues increasing by 17.2% from £290.3m to £340.1m for the year to 30 April 2017.

Major tieups, including with John Lewis, and acquisitions, of which it completed two for a combined cost of nearly £15m this year, have helped fuel its growth.

Steve Parkin, executive chairman of Clipper and Ambassador of the Year at the 2017 Business Master awards, said: “Clipper began its relationship with EWM Group last year. I am delighted that, throughout a detailed tender process we have been able to demonstrate our ability to act proactively as a team and to develop a logistics solution which will make a real difference to the EWM Group’s business.

“We are delighted to have finalised this long term contract to enable us to support the operations and anticipated growth of the EWM Group throughout Great Britain.”

Mark Hebditch, group logistics director at EWM Group, said: “We are delighted to have successfully concluded our negotiations and to be entering into a contractual relationship with Clipper, initially for 5 years, but we hope that it will be a long, successful and prosperous partnership for both parties.”
