Builders merchant opens doors to 50th branch

Hull-founded and headquartered builders’ merchant MKM has opened its 50th branch in Leamington Spa.

The site launches with an 18-strong team.

MKM was founded in 1995 by Hull businessman David Kilburn.

The independent merchant’s expansion has gained momentum over the past year, with the roll out of seven new branches.

David Kilburn, executive chairman of MKM Building Supplies, said: “Having established MKM over 21 years ago, it’s with unbelievable pride that we are opening our 50th national branch – and Royal Leamington Spa couldn’t be a nicer town in which to mark this achievement.

“It’s only thanks to the fantastic work of everyone across our branch network that we’ve been able to reach this milestone.”
