Hospitality group swoops for Sheffield hotel

Bright Hospitality Group (BHG) has acquired Staindrop Lodge hotel in the north Sheffield suburb of Chapeltown.

The acquisition of the 37-bedroomed hotel marks the group’s tenth site.

The deal was brokered by leisure property specialists Fleurets, who were instructed by David Slade and John Wigfield.

The premises was marketed off an asking price of £1.6m.

Nick Thomas of Fleurets said: “The marketing of Staindrop Lodge attracted a great deal of interest from both individual and group buyers, nationwide as well as overseas investors. This demonstrates the strong demand for hotels we are currently experiencing.”

David Slade and John Wigfield added:: “We have enjoyed our time at Staindrop Lodge, having developed the hotel from 12 bedrooms when we bought it in 2012, to a successful all round hotel with 37 bedrooms. We are pleased to see that the hotel will continue to trade along the lines we have developed with Bright Hospitality Group who are experienced hotel operators.”

Zishan Zaman from BHG said: “Our purchase of Staindrop Lodge marks the tenth hotel for Bright Hospitality Group. Our hotels extend from the South West to the North of England and we pleased to add Staindrop Lodge to our group.”
