People: Law firm boosts employment division; IoD appoints law firm director; and more
Law firm Banner Jones has expanded its employment law division with the appointment of Sara Ellison.
The HR and employment law legal executive joins the Sheffield-based employment law team with more than 14-years experience advising both individuals and private, public and third sector clients.
Having studied at Sheffield Hallam University before joining Irwin Mitchell, and subsequently Watson Esam and Taylor Bracewell, Ellison has particular expertise in discrimination and unfair dismissal cases, providing advice at all stages from internal disputes to full tribunal representation.
Director and head of employment law at Banner Jones, Katie Ash, said: “Sara is a welcome addition to our established Employment Law team – bringing with her considerable expertise and experience, and further bolstering our ability to meet increased demand.

Sue Harris, a director at law firm Walker Morris, has joined the Institute of Directors’ Ambassador network in West Yorkshire.
Harris has more than 25 years’ experience of dealing with commercial litigation disputes. Her expertise covers construction, engineering, professional negligence, contractual and shareholder disputes, fraud and contentious probate.
She specialises in high profile, high value cases and has extensive trial experience, acting for both claimants and defendants. She is a former president of Leeds Law Society.
The IoD Ambassador network consists of high-profile business leaders who represent and promote the IoD in their area and grow the region’s voice on national policy matters.
Harris said: “I’m looking forward to working with the West Yorkshire IoD team to encourage more people to join us in raising the profile of our entrepreneurial and innovative region.”
