Site sale makes way for job-boosting retail and leisure scheme

The former Scott Works site in Bradford is to be transformed into a retail and leisure scheme which will create 185 jobs.

Acting on behalf of MPS, the UK Development team at CBRE has sold the site on Hollingwood Lane to Quora Bradford for an undisclosed sum.

The six acre site was formerly occupied by MPS (Field Packaging) and prior to that the Scotts Motorcycle company which built the site at the start of the 20th century.

Major supermarket chains Aldi and Home Bargains are among stores proposed for the site along with a number of smaller retail units, a Marsden’s family pub, restaurant and drive-thru restaurant.

Jessica Haigh, senior surveyor at CBRE, said: “We are delighted to confirm the sale of Scott Works site to Quora Bradford.

“The planned regeneration scheme promises to bring significant improvements to the area as well as create 185 new jobs. The addition of popular discount supermarket chains such as Aldi and Home Bargains will satisfy the growing need for competition and choice within the area.”
