High profile speakers to launch Sports Business Forum

Northern businesses are being invited to a brand new forum featuring inspirational speakers from the world of sport and business.

Keynote speaker at the Game Changers Business of Sport Forum, taking place at Aspire in Leeds on March 1, is Sophie Radcliffe; a blogger, endurance athlete, model and adventurer. Radcliffe is the only person in history to have cycled between – and then climbed – the highest mountains in eight Alpine countries, conquering them all on foot and by bike in just 32 days.

Other speakers include Sarah Bohner, head of product at the NFL; Jon Dutton, chief executive of the Rugby World Cup 2021 and Andy Milnes, group account director at global marketing agency Nielsen Sports. Chief executive of Leeds Rhinos, Gary Hetherington, will host the forum, and will update delegates  on the Headingley stadium development.

Each speaker will bring their own unique insight into the relationship between sport and business, from the economic impact of hosting a major international event to maximising commercial revenue in sport.

The event takes place on Thursday 1st March from 12-5pm at Aspire in Leeds with over 250 guests from across the North expected to attend. It is a joint venture between Leeds marketing agency Banana Kick, Leeds Business Improvement District (LeedsBID) and TheBusinessDesk.com

Banana Kick chief exec Gary McCall said: “This is a first class line up of speakers who have a real understanding of the game changing benefits that sport and business can create. Taking place on the same day as the Leeds Sports Awards, it’s another great reminder of what sport can achieve in Leeds, Yorkshire and beyond.”

LeedsBID Chief Executive Andrew Cooper added: “We are delighted Leeds is staging this new business event which not only reinforces the important role sport plays in our city but also its impact on a broader scale.

“LeedsBID is very much an advocate of what can be achieved by bringing sectors together to work collaboratively and this forum will help to illustrate that.”

Tickets are priced at £60 plus VAT and includes lunch.
