Valve manufacturer relocates UK business operations

A valve manufacturer, which produces specialist products for the global marine and energy markets including power plants and off-shore gas terminals, has relocated its UK business operations in East Yorkshire.
Wärtsilä Valves, which was formerly known as Shipham Valves, was established in Hull in the 1930s.
Its continued success has prompted a relocation to the Humber Enterprise Park in Brough.
The company instructed PPH Commercial to sell its former 2.3-acre site on Hawthorne Avenue in west Hull, which has now completed.
Curtis Land & Property has purchased the 64,500sqft space, which is suitable for various uses, and the company now plans to carry out a refurbishment before letting it again on the open market.
Managing director Howard Curtis said: “We’re excited to see what the future holds for this building, which has great potential and could fulfil a whole host of different requirements.
“Whether we sell or let the units has not yet been decided, but we’re confident that a much clearer picture will emerge in the near future.”
