People: PM Legal Services appoints head of operations; LEP welcomes new board members; Raft of hires for tech firm; and more

PM Legal Services senior associate and founder member, Liz Rowen, has been promoted to head of operations at the firm.

With over a decade’s experience in specialist property management litigation, Rowen advises clients on County Court and Tribunal related matters.

PM Legal Services is led by Cassandra Zanelli.

She said: “Liz is highly respected in our sector and is a valuable member of our team.  Her expertise and dedication have been instrumental to our achievements and her promotion will further accelerate our growth drive.”

The Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership has appointed six new private sector board members to continue the drive for further economic growth in the region.

The new board members bring a wealth of experience, contacts and expertise across a range of disciplines including professional services, property, marketing, transport and manufacturing and will take up their posts in September.

The new board members include:
Peter Kennan, chartered accountant and chartered tax adviser and chair of Sheffield Chamber of Commerce & Industry Transport Forum
Tan Khan, Monaghans
Julia Muir, Founder and chief executive of Gaia Innovation and founder UK Automotive 30% Club
Lucy Nickson, chief executive – One Health Group
Ged Shields, former vice president for corporate planning and development at Sherwin-Williams and chair of the Barnsley Economic Partnership.

A further announcement will follow regarding the sixth appointee. The LEP said.

Alison Kinna, senior vice president, SCM at Outokumpu also joins the board as a co-opted member.

Sir Nigel Knowles, chair of the Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “These appointments continue to strengthen our work, which is central to stimulating economic growth across the region. Sheffield technology firm Razor has expanded with a number of appointments.

Joining Razor as a developer, James Badcoe has held a number of positions in professional development. In his new role, he will be responsible for supporting the needs and demands of clients, maintaining applications and helping bring solutions to life.

Rob Bell has been appointed solution lead. He has a wealth of experience in the industry, having worked for a number of software companies including Tribal, Sequensis and Vitesse PSP.

Laura Smythe joins Razor after completing a degree in Mathematics at Bristol University. She is taking on the role of tester, broadening Razor’s testing capabilities, in line with increasing demand. In her new position, she will test web, mobile and data applications built by Razor.

These latest additions follow the appointment of Michael Viney as sales director earlier this year. After a successful six months at Razor, Viney has been promoted to chief commercial officer. I

Huddersfield-based Pennine Business Partners has appointed an HR consultant to strengthen its team.

Elizabeth Aben has 12 years’ management and professional HR experience. Her areas of expertise include employee relations, pay and benefits, recruitment and HR strategy.

As a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD), she brings a commercial focus to the role gained whilst working for blue-chip companies including EY and PwC.

Aben will look after key construction, manufacturing and third sector clients in Pennine Business Partners’ portfolio.
