Yorkshire’s fastest-growing tech firms revealed

Six companies from Yorkshire have been named in this year’s Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100 league table, which ranks Britain’s private technology, media and telecoms (TMT) companies with the fastest-growing sales.

Overall, the firms have grown their sales by an average of 87% a year over three years to a total of £92m, and together they now employ more than 360 people.

The six companies include four new entrants to the table.

Among them is Leeds-based BigChange, which says 1,000 enterprises around the world use its software platform to manage their mobile workforces. BigChange, which ranked 49th, hit £6.6m in sales last year with annual sales growth over the last three years of 86%.

Also joining this year is Skipton-based payment services provider Contis Group. The company’s white label platform is used by banks, retailers and cryptocurrency firms for online payments. Filling the 78th spot, Contis Group reported sales of £7.2m and had an annual sales growth of 60%.  

The other Yorkshire companies featured include Wakefield-based The Car Buying Group, which was ranked 20th with sales of £39m (141%), and Harrogate-based smart energy firm Chameleon, which came in 35th place with sales of £19.9m (101%).

Cloud service provider Giacom, based in Hessle, finished 55th with sales of £13.9m (76%); and finally the Hull-based legal digital services firm rradar posted sales of £5.1m (57%) in 88th place.

The Tech Track 100 is compiled by Fast Track, the Oxford-based research and networking events firm.
