New restaurant named after prominent businessman set to open

A well-known restaurateur is to run a new venue in Leeds which will be named after prominent business man Arnold Ziff – the founder of listed property and car parking firm Town Centre Securities.

The 70 seater restaurant is to be opened in the Merrion Centre in Leeds, replacing the recently closed Marco Pierre White premises on Wade Lane.

Arnold’s will be named after the entrepreneur and philanthropist Arnold Ziff, whose tireless contributions to business and charity was awarded with an OBE in 1981, and will be managed by former Brasserie 44 restaurateur Steve Ridealgh.

Ziff was the founder of property development and car parking operator Town Centre Securities in 1959, which continues to own an extensive portfolio of properties in and around Leeds.

Edward Ziff, chairman and chief executive of TCS, said: “Arnold’s is going to be more than just a restaurant, but a celebration of my father’s legacy and the inspirational work ethic he bestowed upon myself, my family and indeed the people of Leeds and beyond.

“We’re confident that Steve and his team can deliver a first-class dining experience that blends together old and new perfectly.”

The highly-respected Ridealgh family will be running Arnold’s, headed up by celebrated Leeds restaurateur Steve Ridealgh. His stellar work overseeing Brasserie 44 on The Calls spanned three decades, and he has a long history of serving first class traditional food to Yorkshire diners.

Steve’s wife, Carol, will be leading the kitchen as Head Chef, whilst son Dave will be taking the role of Restaurant Manager.

The main menu will feature the best locally sourced produce, and feature dishes ranging from Pork Tenderloin wrapped in Parma ham, Vegetable and Goat’s Cheese Envelope in brick pastry, and Venison Haunch with blackberries and red wine sauce.

The 70-cover restaurant will also feature a state-of-the-art private dining room, complete with luxurious seating, opulent feature lighting and sleek audio-visual equipment.

Arnold’s Bar and Restaurant will open its doors for the first time in early Autumn.
