People: Law firm appoints non-exec; Allied Irish Bank (GB) welcomes new relationship manager; and more

Law firm Irwin Mitchell has appointed food and drink sector specialist, Stuart Gallyot, as a Non-Executive Director within its Business Legal Services division.

Gallyot will provide hospitality industry advice to the business and help strengthen the Sheffield-headquartered firm’s proposition within its manufacturing and retail sector groups.

He has 14 years of experience at Punch Taverns and has held a number of senior positions at the former FTSE 100 company including Legal & Estates Director and Company Secretary.

He has sat on Punch Tavern’s Executive Board and the Plc Board and during his time there, Stuart dealt with a number of significant board events including re-financing, legal challenges, estate management as well as mergers and acquisitions.

Gallyot currently works part-time at Punch Taverns as its Legal & Estates Director and launched his own consultancy in January 2018.

Commenting on the appointment as a Non-Executive Director at Irwin Mitchell, Gallyot said:“Food and beverage retailing is under significant pressure but it’s important to remember that the disruption in the sector also brings numerous opportunities and a myriad of legal issues which businesses need support with.

Allied Irish Bank has strengthened its North and Midlands team with the appointment of Richard Henshaw as a Healthcare Relationship Manager.

Henshaw will work with the bank’s Leeds and Nottingham business centres to support healthcare customers across Yorkshire and the East Midlands regions.

Henshaw has experience working in the healthcare sector spanning over 16 years. He previously worked at the Royal Bank of Scotland as a healthcare specialist but also has experience working as a broker and gained five years’ experience working as a care home operator.

Property consultant Eddisons has expanded its Leeds head office with the roll out a series of new hires across its building and project consultancy, agency and valuations teams.

Tim Kirman has joined Eddisons’ building and property consultancy team in Leeds as an associate director from global property and construction consultancy Gleeds. He was previously an associate director at Dunlop Heywood, and a senior surveyor at Edward Symmons.

William Triner has joined the firm from Sanderson Weatherall as a graduate surveyor. Triner also holds a masters degree in real estate and will be involved in a range of surveying work across Eddisons’ growing building and project consultancy division.

Meanwhile, Charles O’Hara joins the agency team as an agency surveyor. He will be based in the Leeds office alongside Steven Jones focusing on acquiring, selling and letting a wide variety of commercial property across the region.

Also joining Eddisons are two junior surveyors on placement from their undergraduate studies.

Archie Ingham joins the valuations team from his surveying course at Northumbria University, while Angus Ellwood joins the building and project consultancy team before continuing his building surveying degree at Sheffield Hallam University.
