‘Exceptional’ sales reported at £50m residential scheme

A £50m-plus residential apartment scheme in Leeds has reported ‘exceptional’ sales figures.

Developer JM Construction said that 78 (91%) of the 85 apartments in phase one of the Victoria Riverside development in Hunslet have been sold to a range of buyers.

John Mulleady, the company’s managing director, said: “The apartments are selling as fast as we can complete them and we expect phase one to be fully sold in the next few weeks.”

Located on goodman Street, Victoria Riverside is a sympathetic conversion of the former Grade-II and Grade II-listed Hunslet and Victoria flax spinning mills which have stood empty since the early 1970’s.

The site will eventually extend to 347 apartments comprising a mix of one, two and three bedroom units, including spectacular roof top penthouses.

The phased delivery plan is expected to take four years to complete.

Neil Dickens, Regional Managing Director – North of selling agents LSL Land & New Homes said: “Victoria Riverside is an exciting restoration project which will provide much needed new housing and make a significant contribution to the wider regeneration of the Hunslet Riverside area.

“The apartments are superbly specified and benefit from being just a 15 minute walk from the city centre and close to the motorway network. We are now eagerly awaiting the release of the next block to help us meet the demand.”
