Shortlist revealed for Yorkshire Leadership Awards

The shortlist for the first Yorkshire Leadership Awards has been revealed, showcasing individuals who are having a significant impact on the success of their organisations and the wider region.
More than 35 leaders from across Yorkshire have been shortlisted, representing business, professional services, academia and third sector.
The winners will be revealed at the awards lunch on Wednesday 28 November at The Queens in Leeds.
Judging panel: Professor George Ladorfos, Eve Roodhouse, Kayley Worsley, Paula Dillon, Henri Murison
“It was quite an intense judging session because we received such a broad range of entries, but it was also very uplifting and inspiring to see so many examples of great leadership in action,” said Kayley Worsley, Yorkshire editor at TheBusinessDesk.com and chair of the judging panel.
“All judges were impressed by the quality and calibre of the entries, which shows the strength of leadership we have across Yorkshire. We are looking forward to celebrating the importance of leadership and the impact of our shortlisted individuals at the awards lunch next month. I’d like to say a big thanks to our independent judging panel for their time and input.”

The Yorkshire Leadership Awards are being supported by headline sponsor Leeds Beckett University’s Leeds Business School. Progeny has also announced its support of the awards, sponsoring the Company Leader (up to 100 employees) category.
Brewin Dolphin and West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce have also shown their support to the inaugural awards, which are designed to celebrate great leaders and their achievements for both their organisations and the wider business community.
At the awards event, rugby player Jamie Peacock, a former captain of both Great Britain and England, will talk about how strong leadership and teamwork can lead to great success. The Arc Group – which operate numerous venues across the city – has partnered with TheBusinessDesk.com to host a post-awards drinks reception at The Banyan straight after the awards ceremony, offering all guests at the awards a complimentary cocktail called ‘The Leader’ on arrival.
The event will raise money for TheBusinessDesk.com’s annual charity partner – Leeds Community Foundation.
