Industrial space totalling 61,000 sq ft completes

The second phase of a business park in Doncaster, which has added 61,000 sq ft of industrial space to the 27-acre site, has reached practical completion.

St Modwen had launched Parkside Business Park’s second phase of the development, which consists of two buildings which have been designed with the ability to be split and provide flexible warehouse options from 10,709 sq ft to 31,876 sq ft.­­

The property development firm launched the first phase of the site in 2016 comprising of 78,000 sq ft of accommodation, which is let to leading German businesses.

Bosch Automotive is now operating its flagship automotive technology training facility in one of the units and the other unit is DB Schenker’s northern hub for servicing the Hitachi trains on the East Coast main line.

The strategic development extends across 27-acres and is an established business location off Wheatley Hall Road.

A planning application for the third and final phase of the flagship development in Doncaster was granted in September. The application is for more than 108,000 sq ft of industrial space across three buildings, and once constructed will complete the 247,000 sq ft development which was granted outline consent in March 2016.

The first phase at Parkside Business Park has proven to be a great success with two great tenants which have brought jobs and investment to Doncaster, highlighting the prominence of the location and the quality of offering.

“We look forward to welcoming further tenants in to the next two buildings and continuing to create high quality warehouse space that is helping to satisfy the current shortage of medium sized prime industrial space in the South Yorkshire region.”

The units were built by Yorkshire-based construction company Lindum, which has offices in Elvington near York.

Lindum director James Nellist said: “We are delighted to have completed phase two of the Parkside Business Park development, which was handed over both on time and on budget. This project has built on the successful completion and letting of phase one and has further cemented Lindum’s relationship with St. Modwen.
