Dutch private equity firm to open UK headquarters in Leeds

Dutch private equity firm Nimbus is set to open its UK headquarters in Leeds.

Chris Clegg, a former partner at Endless, has been appointed to lead this operation and chair the UK firm.

Nimbus will be based in the One Park Row office development in the city centre, which underwent a multi-million pound refurbishment by workspace provider Gilbanks.

Clegg said: “Leeds is the perfect hub for our UK operations with thriving financial and professional services sectors. We have ambitious growth plans that will see Nimbus become very active in the dealmaking community over the coming months.

“The Northern Powerhouse has the building blocks in place to deliver significant growth. We hope that both our investment and expertise can help companies become UK and global leaders.”

Alex Duckett, managing director of Gilbanks said: “We aimed to create a world class working environment with One Park Row. It seems the approach is working as we have attracted global leaders from the accountancy sector, fintech, finance and corporate advisory services.

“Businesses are increasingly looking for premium levels of service to ensure they have the best environment possible to support their growth and attract and retain talent.”

Nimbus has also announced plans to open offices in Manchester as it seeks further investments across the North of England.

The firm established itself by investing in industrial companies with a substantial and potential for growth with an annual turnover from £10m up to £500m.
