Sale completed on 18,544 sq ft warehouse earmarked for revamp

An 18,544 sq ft “prominently positioned” warehouse unit in Leeds has been acquired by Wharfedale Properties.

The sale of 1 Benson Street was secured by the Industrial team at CBRE in Leeds, which acted on behalf of Wolesley UK.

CBRE and commercial real estate agency, Holder & Co, have been retained by Wharfedale Properties to re-launch the property to market on a leasehold basis, following a refurbishment programme.

Holder & Co represented Wharfedale Properties in the acquisition.

Sophie Angus, surveyor for the industrial team at CBRE Leeds, said: “We are pleased to secure a sale on this prominently positioned Leeds warehouse facility. Opportunities to buy versatile, well positioned freehold industrial properties near to the city centre are rare.

“This was evident in the high number of offers we received during the best bids process, indicating the pent-up demand for this type of asset in the Yorkshire market.

“We are delighted to have been retained by Wharfedale Properties Limited to market this unit going forward. Leeds is also experiencing a shortage of good quality leasehold accommodation, resulting in an anticipated high level of interest.”

Phil Caspell of Holder & Co Limited, added: “It was great to assist Wharfedale Properties Limited on the acquisition of this prime asset. We believe it complements their existing portfolio well and we have already experienced a strong level of leasehold interest in the premises.”
