Fashion firm set to close two more stores in Yorkshire

Two Yorkshire LK Bennett stories will close even though the fashion chain has been bought out of administration.

LK Bennett has been bought by Byland UK but 15 stores are not included in the deal and will close, leading to the loss of 110 jobs. The firm’s York and York Outlet shops will close.

Byland UK was set up by Rebecca Feng, who runs the company’s Chinese franchises. The sale includes the company’s headquarters, 21 stores and all of its concessions

It is understood that the company’s international subsidiaries were also not included in the sale and would remain in administration.

LK Bennett collapsed into administration on March 8. It saw the immediate closure of the Sheffield Meadowhall store. Staff were axed at the firm’s headquarters and five stores closed in total – Liverpool, Sheffield (Meadowhall), Bristol, Liverpool and two in London.

A total of 55 people lost their jobs at that stage. Its website was taken offline but is now live again.
