Weekender: Town hall launches cinema club

Yeadon Town Hall has launched a cinema club which will show a variety of films including award-winning movies, musicals, sing-a-longs and festive favourites.

The venue, which already hosts tribute acts, live music gigs and hit musicals, will kick off the new club with a ‘Sundays at Two’ line-up, which includes Bohemian Rhapsody (16th June), The Greatest Showman Sing-A-Long (7th July) , The Favourite (8th September), West Side Story (6th October), It’s A Wonderful Life (17thNovember) and Elf (24th November).

Special upcoming screenings also include The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Saturday 26th October at 8pm.

Jamie Hudson, Director of Yeadon Town Hall, said: “Yeadon Town Hall’s main auditorium was first used as a cinema in 1912, using a projection box at the back of the hall to show films. We’re delighted to be bringing that projection box back to good use and hope our community cinema will provide many affordable afternoons of entertainment for our visitors.”

Tickets to all community cinema events are £5.
