Scandinavian-inspired coffee shop comes to Headingley

Scandinavian-inspired coffee shop Fika North has launched in Headingley.

Drawing inspiration from Sweden, the new cafe has a vegan-friendly menu, with ingredients sourced locally from environmentally responsible suppliers.

The site launched on the corner of Otley Road and Weetwood Lane on 17 April

It’s the first solo venture of Fika North owners Gemma and Elis Williams, who had spent eight years working in the super yacht industry.

Owner of Fika North, Gemma Williams, said: “Identity is very important for us. We’re proud to live, and have built a life, in Yorkshire and we wanted Fika North to reflect that passion.

“We also love the idea of the ritual and importance of coffee. We want our customers to feel comfortable enough to take time out to enjoy that ritual with family, friends, colleagues or classmates.

“For us Fika North is about the whole experience. From the delicious speciality coffee, tasty handmade cakes, beautiful surroundings, carefully selected soundtrack and relaxed atmosphere. We want each of the senses to be satisfied by the time our customer leaves and makes them excited for the next time they return.”
