£10m extra care facility completed

Leeds companies Brewster Bye Architects and Adept Civil and Structural Consulting Engineers have completed work on a £10m extra care facility in Chorley town centre.

The development, known as Primrose Gardens, has 65 one and two bedroom, apartments, compete with their own kitchens, bathrooms, living space and terraces.

A range of amenities including a state-of-the-art sprung dance floor, hair salon and café, which are also open to non-residents, have also been created.

The development was built for Chorley Council and The Eric Wright Group was the main contractor.

Gareth Jackson from Brewster Bye Architects said: “This is an outstanding development where over 55s can enjoy living independently, but also have 24-hour access to care and support should they need it. We specifically designed it to be highly accessible, with stunning grounds and high-quality communal space and amenities, which are just a short walk away from the town centre. We’re delighted that work is complete and it will be hugely rewarding to see residents enjoying their new homes in the coming weeks.”

Matthew Ramsden, director at Adept, added: “Primrose Gardens has set a new benchmark in terms of quality and specification for a retirement living village and has the potential to become a valuable asset for the local community as a whole.

“It’s also going to be a fantastic place to call home, due to it being extremely functional, modern and light, with superb facilities.”
