Law firm celebrates 10% growth in turnover

National law firm Stone King, which has a base in Leeds, recorded turnover of £19.8m in its latest financial statement.

This was up from £17.8m in the previous financial year, representing 10.9% growth.

The firm’s four key sectors of Business, Charity & Social Enterprise, Private Client and Education, all recorded growth in billing in the year to 30 April 2019, including 17% growth for Charity & Social Enterprise and a 13.4% rise for Education.

Managing Partner Steven Greenwood said: “We had a strong year across the board with a number of key hires, new service launches and our Leeds office moved into larger premises to accommodate our growing presence in the region.

“A key focus has been growing our service offering in Further Education. We supported this with the appointment of nationally-recognised expert Tom Morrison as Partner in January, to head this area or work. The appointment of employment expert Dr John McMullen as a Partner in our Employment Team has also been a coup for us.”

Stone King has a national network of offices, with its Leeds base located at One Park Row. It also has offices in London, Cambridge, Birmingham and its headquarters in Bath, where it has operated for more than 230 years.

Greenwood added: “Our success as a firm is down to our people, which is why wellbeing continues to be a top priority.

“Over the past year we signed up to the Mindful Business Charter as part of a commitment to better mental health. He noted that overall, 19% of Stone King people have worked for the firm for more than 10 years, rising to 40% of Partners.
