Care business expands with help from bank’s funding boost

North Yorkshire business Holistic Care Provision (HCPH) has announced the completion of the purchase of two residential care homes in the Selby area, following funding support from Barclays.

Husband and wife team Adam and Helen Thompson also co-own domiciliary care business Riccall Care, and the group will be headquartered at Escrick Business Park. They have bought the Abbey Lea and Westwood residential care homes.

HCPH will provide residential care services to the two homes, while Riccall Care will continue to offer private and local authority home care to clients across York, Selby and the surrounding villages.

Adam Thompson, managing director, said: “We are very excited to be expanding our vision of providing an exceptional, holistic care that caters to all of our client’s needs.

“Our priority is improving the quality of life for those who choose to reside at home and now also in our residential care. Maintaining their privacy, dignity and ability to manage their own lives, the new care homes will enable us to support more families with the care of their loved ones. It’s fantastic that Barclays has been able to support us on our growth journey.”

He and his wife now employ 200 people locally and plan to grow the business further as its turnover increases. Their firm has won recognition for its dedication to staff training.

Paul Craske, Barclays business relationship director, put together the funding package for the deal. He said: “Adam and Helen really impressed me with their growth plans and we’re delighted to be able to support the completion of the two care homes.

“Holistic Care Provision is a well-run family business and we look forward to seeing the business develop and grow over the coming years.”
