Sale secured for touring, camping and ‘glamping’ site

Serenity Camping, a mixed touring, camping and “glamping” site in Whitby has been sold to a park operator from a guide price of £989,000.

The 5.5 acre (2.2 hectare) site boasts a range of accommodation options with 38 touring caravan pitches, space for 42 tents and two glamping bell tents – the ‘Shepherd’s Hut’ and ‘Potting Shed’ units, which provide additional accommodation.

A two-bedroom owner’s cottage is also at the site.  Located approximately about a mile from the beach at Runswick Bay, Serenity Camping is a well-placed base for exploring the North York Moors National Park. The sale was secured by Savills.

Richard Prestwich, director in the leisure and trade related team at Savills Chester, said: “Serenity Camping is a real demonstration of the success that can come from diversifying a campsite.

“Providing a range of accommodation options attracts a wider base of visitors and is something the park has proven. We are delighted to have secured a sale of the property on behalf of our clients.”
