Six-month project to revitalise seafront hotel

A company has started work on a full refurbishment for a hotel launch – the Bike & Boot overlooking Scarborough’s waterfront.

The Bike & Boot will see former 50-bedroom The Mount Hotel totally overhauled and revitalised into a 65-bed “home from home”.

The six-month refurbishment contract by Scarborough-based Infiniti Roofing & Construction is being carried out for Bike & Boot founders Simon Rhatigan and Simon Kershaw.

It has ensured employment for about 20 skilled local construction professionals as well as specialists trade contractors.

“This is an incredibly exciting project for us,” said Marcus Rowe, director of Infiniti Roofing & Construction, part of the Infiniti Group.

“It is an indication of the kind of high quality construction work that Infiniti Roofing & Construction aims to be involved with. There are already plenty of hotels in Scarborough and North Yorkshire, but nothing at all like this – it will be truly spectacular.”

Working alongside multi-award winning interior designer Rachel McLane Ltd, the refurbishment includes high end en-suite bathrooms, with showers and toilets, plus new carpets and decoration in all 65 rooms, as well as the creation of an in-house hotel cinema, E-bike charging stations, dog and boot wash, a refurbished bar, restaurant and kitchen areas.

This latest success for the Infiniti Scaffolding Group comes in the wake of its opening of a 10,000 sq ft HQ in Scarborough and a new 4,000 sq ft depot in Leeds.  Recent group contracts include for Mitie Group on Leeds and Huddersfield job centres; Wharfedale Homes in Harrogate; the entertainment centre in York; ENGIE in Helmsley, and William Hare in Bury, Thorpe Arch and Scarborough.

Established in 2015, Infiniti Roofing & Construction employs a team of 10 staff including expert builders, roofing, general labourers and drivers, as well as an experienced administration and office team.
