A total of 10 TSB branches will close in the Yorkshire & Humber region as part of the bank’s cost-cutting programme.

The locations of the branches, first revealed yesterday along with the month when they will close next year, are: Headingley, Leeds (February); Thorne (April); Skipton (May); Hull – Willerby (May); Normanton (May); Todmorden (June); Brough (July); Market Weighton (July); Shipley (November); and Harrogate (November).

TSB had previously announced 82 of its branches would close across the country in 2020.

This forms part of a plan by new chief executive Debbie Crosbie to make £100m of cost cuts by 2022.

The bank said that 370 positions would be hit by the closures. TSB is repositioning following a serious IT crisis last year, which affected 1.9 million of its customers.

Robin Bulloch, customer banking director at TSB, told the BBC: “We will fully support customers through this transition.

“We realise this is difficult news for our branch partners and will do everything to support those affected to offer voluntary redundancies and redeploy as many people as we can to other roles.”

At the end of 2020, TSB will be left with a network of 454 branches.
