New panellist announced for placemaking event

The final panellist for Thebusinessdesk.com’s seminar ‘Placemaking’s Response to Climate Change’ has been revealed.

April Marsden, associate at architecture practice Bowman Riley will be the fifth panellist at this sold out event which is sponsored by Shulmans LLP and hosted by Bruntwood at its iconic Platform building in Leeds city centre.

April joins the panel which includes Angela Barnicle, Leeds City Council’s chief officer for asset management and regeneration;
Chris Thompson, managing director, Citu; Amanda Beresford, Shulmans’ head of planning and president of Leeds Chamber of Commerce; and Professor Chris Gorse, Professor of Construction and Project Management, School Of Built Environment, Engineering And Computing.

April has a wealth of experience across a variety of sectors predominantly within the specialist housing sector with several of her designs going on to win industry recognised awards. Her approach to the design brief starts from a thorough and detailed contextual appraisal, ensuring smart design solutions that are built on current thinking, innovative construction techniques and the implementation of technology critical to successful building management.

The event will see the panel of property experts discuss what is currently being done, how they see environmental concerns influencing placemaking, and what Leeds can or should be doing to be leading the way.
