Traffic Alert: M62 shut after collision

Motorists have been warned to expect long delays on the M62 this morning following a collision involving a number of vehicles.

The crash took has happened on the westbound carriageway of the motorway near to junction 26, for Chain Bar, in West Yorkshire.

Traffic has been halted while emergency service personnel deal with the accident’s aftermath.

Drivers are being warned of 30 minute delays on the approach to this incident, above usual journey times, spanning nine miles back to J29. Highways England has reported that average speeds on the approach to J26 are seven mph.
