Business completes a heating acquisition hat-trick

West Yorkshire-based company JLA Group has acquired its third heating business in three months.

Newcombustion Engineering, Trinity Heatcare and Ellesmere Group are the latest additions to the growing commercial heating and air-conditioning division of the business, which is headquartered in Ripponden.

The three companies, which between them have a headcount of over 100 (55 of which are engineers), cover the Midlands, London, North West and South of England.

Combined with Glasgow-based William Whitfield, which joined the JLA Group in May 2018, this expertise and coverage will give a further boost to the company’s growing portfolio.

All three companies complement the current JLA offering, which includes commercial laundry, catering, heating and fire safety to more than 25,000 customers across a diverse range of sectors including healthcare, care homes, schools, hotels and social housing.

Helen Ashton, chief executive officer at JLA, said: “The acquisition of Trinity Heat Care Limited, Ellesmere Group and Newcombustion in three months is a huge achievement for us.

“Adding them to the previous acquisition of William Whitfield, the coverage we are now offering across the UK in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) sector is invaluable to growing our already extensive customer base.

“We’re seeing more and more customers who want that one-stop shop for the critical areas of their business and by building on our own 40 plus years of knowledge with the expertise of the acquisition companies, we can offer them just that.”

Matt Armstrong, managing director at Ellesmere Group, who will continue to lead the Ellesmere team, said: “The team is incredibly excited to have the opportunity to work within the JLA Group.

“The move will allow us to further develop our existing business, whilst utilising JLA’s structure to grow and identify new business opportunities.”
