Tech round up: Region’s tech businesses get recognition

Yorkshire has bolstered its technology credentials with two businesses recognised as shining lights of scale ups.

Yeadon-based Panintelligence, has been named in TechNation’s Upscale 5.0 programme. This annual programme aims to “helps some of the UK’s most disruptive tech companies solve crucial scaling challenges”.

Panintelligence is the only Yorkshire firm in the cohort of 30 and also one of only four businesses from the North of England.

In a post on LinkedIn in the firm stated: “We’re over the moon to be selected as one of the UK’s fastest growing tech scale-ups and we’re excited to have joined Tech Nation’s Upscale programme.”

Internet of things (IoT) firm Hark has been named one of the North’s leading tech innovators. The firm won the regional heat of KPMG’s annual Best British Tech Pioneers competition and will now compete in the national semi-finals.

Jordan Appelson CEO of Hark, commented: “KPMG’s Best British Tech Pioneer is a renowned award that brings together some of the best start-ups in the country. The competition is a great opportunity to spread awareness around new innovative technology and for us in particular to gain exposure around our IoT platform. We are excited to be going through to the semi-finals and pitching our businesses to the next round of judges”
