Drive to recruit 300 people for new Motorway Service Area

A recruitment drive is underway to hire up to 300 full-time equivalent positions for a new Motorway Service Area in Leeds, opening this spring.

The Leeds Skelton Lake Services, located on the M1 J45 and built by the Extra MSA Group, will host a wide range of food and drink, retail, and leisure facilities, including Nando’s, Burger King, LEON, Harry Ramsdens, Pizza Express, Chopstix, Upper Crust, Urban Express and Starbucks.

The site will also include a 100-bed Ramada hotel.

Andrew Long, chief executive at Extra MSA, said: “Leeds Skelton Lake Services is in the final stages of its build process. The overall new MSA facility provides an important contribution to road safety on this section of the Strategic Road Network, and will offer visitors a visually stunning place to stop off during their journey.

“We’re delighted to have a complimentary range of selected Tenant Operators “brand partners” on-site, some of whom are a first for the UK motorway network.”

“In total, we’ll be providing around 300 full-time equivalent roles at the site, at a range of outlets, from well-known food and beverage retailers, to business and hotel facilities. We’ve worked very closely with our brand partners and Leeds City Council in particular, to help ensure we provide a range of good job opportunities for local people.”
