Property let to Chinese supermarket business

The ground floor of a residential block in Leeds has been let to business owner Jiang Young Feng, who will be opening a Chinese supermarket on the site.

The 2,345 sq ft unit at the Oasis Residence property has been let by Fox Lloyd Jones.

It is close to two universities, as well as the 02 Academy and Millennium Square.

With more than 9,000 international students choosing Leeds to complete their studies each year, ‘Taste Chinese Supermarket’ intends to target this market, as well as those students living in the 96-bed apartment complex above.

Experienced entrepreneur Feng already owns ‘Taste the Orient’ supermarket on Vicar Lane, as well as a Chinese buffet restaurant, Crown Chinese, on Gower Street.

He will rent the space from Leeds-based property management and lettings company, YPP, with the supermarket opening later this year.

Jordan Sarussi, of Fox Lloyd Jones, said: “This area of Leeds enjoys a high footfall so we knew there would be a lot of interest from new and established business owners alike.

“With Far East students making up the majority of overseas students attending the universities, the location is ideal for a Chinese supermarket.

“With Mr Feng’s expertise in this area, we are confident he will enjoy the same success as he has with his other city centre businesses.”

Othman Dakhil, from YPP, added: “We are delighted to welcome Jiang Young Feng’s ‘Taste Chinese Supermarket’.

“It will provide a valuable amenity for the residents in the scheme and the surrounding area. Fox Lloyd Jones provided a high level of service throughout this transaction.”

Carter Towler was joint agent on the property.
