Decontamination firm on the frontline against virus

A Doncaster business which provides decontamination services to laboratories nationwide is operating seven days a week to help in the fight against Coronavirus.

IP&C Solutions has extended its services to cover sites including hospitals, schools, play areas and workplaces.

In addition to fumigation, the company installs laboratory equipment and has also been helping set up new testing facilities around the country to meet the growing demand.

IP&C serves clients including Oxford and Cambridge Universities and the NHS. The company recently received a £150,000 loan to support its growth from NPIF – Mercia Debt Finance, which is managed by Mercia and part of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund.

IP&C was founded in 2017 by Neil Anderson and Carol Duke.

Anderson said: “Currently we are working seven days a week to assist the fight against this particularly nasty virus.

“Alongside our laboratory work we have decontaminated ships, schools, offices and warehouses as well as hospitals and emergency vehicles in order to keep things moving.

“In some cases, the sites have closed down but the managers want reassurance that the building is virus-free or that it is safe to move equipment off site. Where locations have remained up and running, fumigation provides an additional safeguard.

“While we are at the sharp end in the fight against Coronavirus, we are working to support the NHS and laboratory staff.

“Our job is all about safety and gives the people working there greater peace of mind. When we turn up on site, everyone is pleased to see us!”

Pete Sorsby, of Mercia, added: “The team at IP&C are playing an important role in the fight against Covid-19 and the funding is helping them to step up their operations.

“We continue to support all our clients through this challenging time and we are still open to new applications from other businesses seeking funding for growth.”

Grant Peggie, director at the British Business Bank, said: “It is inspiring to see the hard work that the entire team at IP&C are doing and we are proud of all the NPIF investee companies who are supporting the fight against Covid-19.

“NPIF is open for businesses and continues to support businesses across the Northern Powerhouse region at this time and we would encourage other small businesses to get in touch with our dedicated fund managers to discuss funding options available.”

The Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund project is supported financially by the European Union using funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020 and the European Investment Bank.
