Traffic alert: M1 in South Yorkshire is closed northbound

The M1 in South Yorkshire is closed northbound between J30 (Barlborough) and J31 (Aston) due to a police incident.

Road users travelling in vehicles under 14 ft 3 are advised to follow the “Solid Circle” diversion symbol road signs.

Exit the M1 at J30. At the roundabout take the third exit on to the A616 and proceed to the next roundabout.

At the roundabout take the first exit on to the A619 and continue for approximately five miles to the roundabout. At the roundabout take the second exit to continue on the A619 and proceed along for approximately one mile keeping left to join the A60.

Continue on the A60 and continue to the roundabout. At the roundabout take the second exit on to the A57 and proceed for about eight miles and then re-join the M1 at J31.

Road users travelling in vehicles over 14 ft 3 are advised to follow the “Solid Triangle” diversion symbol road signs.

Exit the M1 at J30. At the roundabout take the first exit on to the A6135 and proceed for approximately 3.2 miles to the A6135/N6052 intersection.

Turn right onto the B6052 and straight onto the B6053. Continue for approximately 2.8 miles taking the second exit at every roundabout.

Take the third exit on to the A57 and proceed for about 3.5 miles following signs for the M1. At the junction take the first exit and re-join the M1.
