Security specialist set for growth with six-figure funding deal

R&S Security, a security specialist company based in Doncaster, is set for expansion following a six-figure funding package from HSBC UK.

The business, founded in 2007 by Richard Sanders and Scott Parkinson, who started the business from a summer house, installs and maintains security systems, from CCTV, gate and barrier automation systems and fire alarms across Yorkshire and the surrounding areas.

R&S Security also provides security advice to a wide range of customers on a daily basis.

Now, with the backing of HSBC UK and after years of growth, R&S Security is to expand into a new headquarters on Cowhouse lane Armthorpe, Doncaster.

It has purchased the quarter acre site and is now developing new offices to run the growing business from.

The premises are the firm’s first step on a five-year expansion plan to introduce new operating systems to customers, double its number of employees and to bring in new business.

Its new HQ will showcase the very latest technology available, from gate and barrier automation, automatic number plate and facial recognition, thermal cameras and the very latest high definition CCTV systems with external human detection analytics monitoring software.

Richard Sanders, managing director of R&S Security, said: “With HSBC UK’s support we’ve been able to develop a state of the art premises, after outgrowing our previous one which we bought back in 2012.

“The new site showcases how far our business has come and the breadth of our offer to our customers, giving them the reassurance, they need now and in the future.”

Rebecca Pearce, relationship manager, South & East Yorkshire, HSBC UK, added: “We’re excited to support a dynamic Yorkshire business that has come so far in just 13 years. Our backing will provide the additional capacity needed for the company to meet its ambitious five-year growth plans.

“We look forward to seeing the team win new customers and create new local jobs in the next years to come.”

R&S Security currently has 15 employees, which includes eight engineers and plans to double its workforce over the next five years. In 2019 the company achieved a turnover of £1.1m and now has over 3,400 customers.

This deal has been funded as part of HSBC UK’s £14bn SME fund, with £1.05bn dedicated to helping Yorkshire businesses realise their ambitions for growth.
