European contract win for online learning firm

West Yorkshire eLearning firm, Day One Technologies, has won a £100,000 contract to develop eLearning solutions for a consortium of European healthcare providers and academia.

The Batley-based business has been appointed to build and integrate a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) for use within Kings College Hospital, University of Gent in Belgium, Federal Public Service for Health in Belgium, and Payoke in Belgium.

Aimed at professionals supporting victims of people trafficking and modern-day slavery across the globe, the course content will be made available for learners in English, Flemish and German.

The contract is the third major win for the firm, which was also appointed to develop eLearning solutions for Air Products and Thermal Fluid Systems earlier this year and represents the increased demand for specialist online learning platforms.

Elaine Teal, learning development manager at Day One, said: “We are delighted to be working alongside such an amazing group of leaders who are passionate about improving lives through learning, but we also recognise that it comes during a heart-breaking time for both the UK and the rest of the world.

“It’s an extremely difficult time for many businesses right now and many have had to furlough or let their staff go to cope with overheads and rates.

“Thanks to the recent contract wins and the successful years prior to the pandemic, we are lucky to be able to keep all of our great team members in employment, albeit remotely, meaning we can continue to respond to the needs of clients, old and new.”

Day One Technologies provides eLearning development services to drive learner engagement, and creates business systems simulations, white label LMS, scenario-based training content and more for online and blended learning.

In the past, the firm has developed solutions for several high-profile clients including The Co-operative Bank, GHD, BOC and NHS Scotland.

Throughout 2020, it will also add FTSE listed firm, Croda, and Stride BP to the portfolio of businesses who have benefited from its ongoing learning support.
